Expo 2013
Been a long day at Bedford’s 2013 Expo. Left Fayetteville around 4:00 a.m. During lunch a handful of us took a quick break to run over to the Old Mill for a few pictures. The sky had wonderful overcast clouding when leaving the conference center, but by the time we reached the Old Mill the sky had cleared and horrible mid-day hot light had returned. Even with the poor lighting I was able to get a couple of interesting pictures.
Central Kanasas Photo Session
Had a great time over the weekend photographing locations in centeral Kansas with friends.
We started at the Theurer farm a breathtaking site of millions of sunflowers as far as the eye can see.
We then traveled to Oxford Kansas, the home of the Old Oxford Mill. Built in 1874, a three mile channel was hand dug parallel to the Arkansas River. The water running through the mill race provided the power necessary to run the mill.
Finally we finished of the trip with a visit o Chaplin Nature Reserve, just outside Arkansas City KS.
Sunrise at Lake Leatherwood
Arrived early Sunday to photograph the Exterra races at Eureka Springs Lake Leatherwood. Lake Leatherwood is a great small lake. Most of the lake is only around seven feet deep and has a large marsh area that is a favorite hunting ground for water fowl and red winged black birds eating on the cattails.
Blast from the Past
Going through some old pictures today looking for a specific image and came across this one. It is picture of Catherine and I with Scott Kelby at the 2009 PhotoShop Users conference. Wow how time flies! The PhotoShop users conference is one of my annual events. A great time to learn the latest tip and tricks from those who are tops in their field.

Hosting MAPSym
Introducing Canon Explorer of Light, Hanson Fong at the 2013 Mid-America Photography Symposium. One of my greatest joys as host of MAPSym is meeting such world renowned photographers as Hanson who travel from around the nation to present at the Symposium in Eureka Springs, Ar.
